After extending the brief into something more after having a crit I decided to mock up a website for the new developed concept. The website would be for when people wanted to order cakes online, so it has all of the necessary links to be able to do this. I have done some research into cake websites where you can order cakes for delivery, to make sure I had everything I needed.
This is the home page for the website where I have kept the running theme of the oven. There is pictures of the cakes to give people a sense of what they can expect and to also add colour to the website. The links are all underneath the central photo.
After researching into the links that you normally need on a cake I have these on the image above. The home page for general information; about us for information about the cake shop and how it started; the menu for people to browse through the selection of cakes if they were wanting the standard flavours; a gallery of all the cakes; the basket to add multiple items to and so they can continue shopping once they have picked a cake; the checkout to complete an order and then contact us for any queries or problems customers may have. Above the white links is a link for mix and match made to order, which is where customers can order custom cakes and mix and match flavours, icing and toppings to create a cake just how they like it.
