Jason Melnick/ Paper crafting

Jason Melnick is a Graphic Designer with a passion for paper crafting based in OHIO. I found some of his work on Behance and then looked at his personal website. His paper crafting is very simple and charming. I am wanting to explore the art of paper crafting throughout my FMP and investigate ways in which I can use this traditional method to create innovative design.

Melnick has used strips of paper to create Christmas decorations (Ball balls), it looks like a very simple technique but looks exciting. I want to see how I can use simple paper crafting techniques to make something amazing for my FMP.

Sabeena Karnik/ Paper Crafting

Sabeena Karnik/ Behance

I came across Sabeena's work on Behance, her paper crafting skills are amazing. This is a whole new take on Typography that I would love to investigate. In this moment in time I am not really a typographic designer and Typography isnt really one of my strengths. But if there was a way in which I could use one of my strengths to explore type then I could build a new skill into a new strength.

Martina Friedli/ Greeting Cards

I first came across Martina Friedli's design work on Behance after searching for Greetings cards. I will be doing a brief on Greetings cards for my FMP and thought it would be useful to look at existing designs out there. Martina's work has been created using traditional design methods and design approaches which I really love. Her product range has a clear concept and the range works well together. I would like to design a complete product range like this and complete my brief to a very high standard so that I can sell my product range in shops.

Baked/ T shirt

After designing an apron for the staff that would work in the cake shop, I realised that I needed a uniform for the delivery staff for when people ordered cakes online and had them delivered. I came up with a simple design proposal that uses the oven concept like the muffin boxes. The t shirts would be a cotton material with the logo and oven design printed onto them.
