Year Book mock pages

These are the first initial finalised layouts for the year book proposal. We have a three page spread for each person with one page that folds out to the side. We were going to have two pages that folded out up and down for each person but after considering cost we realised it wouldnt be practical. We do actually think that this helped out design as it works a lot better with the one page opening out. There would have been to much space to fill for each person and the year book would have been too thick.

The concept behind the coloured pages was to show a favourite colour of someone, we felt that colour theory was an important skill we learnt and thought it would be good to include it in our concept. Colours also keep the design bright and playful, which again fits with our concept of 'work hard play hard'. We will be arranging our book by the colours of the pages so we can place colours next to each other that compliment one another.

The three words are words that will be given to us from the class that sum up the course. These are my three words which I think are honest and enticing to someone whose thinking about applying to the course. We decided to have this first as the page that will fold out because it then reveals ourselves and a short bio with questions, as well as our work. We want people to understand that the course is fun but hard work, because it is.

This is the bio page that will have a photo of me on it. It will have our name, what we specialise in, a short bio which is the questions people can choose from and then our contact details. We didnt want to bore people with too much writing so the questions are serious and fun to gain a better understanding of us as designers and as people with great personalities.

The last page, which will be next to the bio page will have our work on it. The layout can be moved around and the pictures will be of more current and best work from the year. I do think the titles of the work need to be made smaller so we can have more photos. But this is a proposal.
